Baghlan Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Directorate said that eight medical plants and pastures’ conservation associations were established in the province.

These associations were established in Khenjan, Doshi, and Baghlan-e-Markazi districts.

Provincial agriculture officials said that unprofessional collection of medical plants has put the plants at risk of extinction. According to them, large swaths of these pastures are either being usurped or demolished.

The provincial agriculture directorate said that they intend to revive 303 hectares of pastures by the end of this year.

The newly-established associations are responsible for protecting the pastures and medical plants.
