MAIL Builds 66 Onion Storage Facilities in Nangarhar

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) will build 66 onion cold storage facilities for Nangarhar farmers.
Engineer Samiullah Nasrat, provincial agriculture director, said that of 66 facilities, 23 will be built in Goshta district which will have the capacity of storing 253 metric tons of onion.
The remaining 43 storage facilities will be built in five other districts of the province.
The provincial agriculture director said that by building of these cold storage facilities, farmers’ problems will be solved and onion will be available all year round in the market with the reasonable price.
Nasrat added that building of the storage facilities will cost over 14 million AFN, which will be completed in one year.
