Takhar Onion Production Reaches to Over 60,000 Tons

Mezan 23: October 15, 2019

The production of onion in Takhar province has reached to over 60,000 tons this year. Takhar is considered the largest producer of onion in the country.

Surveys in Takhar show that each half an acres of land produce 10,500-14,000 kilograms of onion in the province.

With the hike of onion production in the province, the market for the crop has also flourished.

The provincial agriculture directorate said that some of the produced onion will be exported to Pakistan and India.
