Panj Amu project costs more than 373 Million and 500 thousand to regulate the irrigation system in Takhar

The Panj Amu project, related to the ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, spent 373 million 552 thousand 542 AFN in 1399 to regulate the irrigation and drainage system in Takhar province.
Sirajuddin Mehraban, provincial director of agriculture of Takhar Province says that Panj Amo project in in coordination with the directorate of Agriculture of the mentioned province in 1399 in construction of drains and irrigation regulation in this province, Construction of 11 agricultural canals in Dargad, Dasht-e-Qala, Khwaja Baha -Uddin, Yangi-Qala and Taloqan districts started at a cost of 366,325,998 AFN, with the completion of three canals and the rest of the canals to be completed soon.
Nine watersheds have also been built in the districts of Khwaja Ghar, Khwaja Baha- Uddin, Yangi Qala, Dasht-e- Qala and Taloqan at a cost of 5.85 million Afghanis.
Four demonstration wheat farms and three corn demonstration farms at a cost of 636,710 AfN have also been built by Panj Amu project in Takhar province.
The director of Takhar Agriculture further  added that the project, in cooperation with directorate has created and distributed 53 irrigation and certification associations to farmers in the districts of Khaja Ghar, Khaja Bahauddin, Yangi Qala, Dasht-e Qala.
