Evaluation of “EATS” project activities

A coordination meeting was held with the officials of World Bank and the EATS project, chaired by Hashmatullah Ghafouri, deputy minister of irrigation and natural resources of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIL), to evaluate last year's activities of Emergency Agriculture and Food Safety Project (EATS).
During the meeting, EATS project officials provided information on the project's activities and achievements, including construction of cold-storages, and MAIL Research Director also stated the activities of this directorate to MAIL deputy.
In addition, members of the mentioned meeting said,” 500 to 1,000 new zero-energy cold-storages needed to be built to store agricultural products.”
On the other hand, World Bank (WB) officials said that the activities of  EATS project have been extended for two years with a payment of  57.5 million $ by (WB).
Mr. Ghafouri, instructed the relevant directorates to submit their proposals to Emergency Agriculture and Food Safety Project as soon as possible so that they can be submitted to World Bank for funding. He also instructed the project authorities and other relevant sections to expedite their activities.
