Two Irrigation Networks Will Irrigate 1,750 Acres of Paktia Land

The construction of ‘Joi Dasta’ and ‘Joe Jangal’ irrigation networks is ongoing in Paktia province and the channels will irrigate 1,750 acres of land.

Joi Dasta irrigation network is located in Khoja Ali village and Joe Jangal irrigation canal is in Deh Bala village of Gardez, provincial capital. The projects are being funded by the On Farm Water Management Project (OFWMP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL).

Joi Dasta irrigation canal will irrigate 1287.5 acres of land, benefiting 266 families. Joi Jangal irrigation canal will irrigate 477 acres of land, benefiting 400 families.

Upon reconstruction of these canals, over 20 percent of farmers’ agricultural products will be increased.
