Uruzgan produced 610 Tons Cumin this year

Officials in Uruzgan Department of Agriculture report the production of more than 600 Tons of Cumin in the province.
Ahmad Shah Khairi, Director of Agriculture in Uruzgan province said, that 610 Tons of Cumin has been produced in this province, in total, of which 573 Tons are black Cumin and 80 Tons are white Cumin this year.
Mr. Khairi says about the situation of buying and selling Cumin in Uruzgan province, that cumin has a good domestic and foreign market.
Bead of Uruzgan’s Agriculture added that the domestic market of Cumin is Kandahar and Ghazni provinces, and Cumin is exported to India and Pakistan through these two provinces.
He says cumin is sold for 300 Afghanis per Kilo.
About 547 Hectares of Cumin land are cultivated in Uruzgan province. Among them, black Cumin is planted in 499 Hectares and white Cumin in 48 Hectares.
Uruzgan is one of the provinces with a decent climate for growing Cumin and Cumin is grown in all its districts.
