Livestock

Livestock in Afghanistan was at high risk of drought in 2018 (1397 Solar Year) but the Ministry of Agriculture’s predictability and its special attention to effected livestock holders prevented the major catastrophe in the livestock sector.
Afghanistan’s livestock sector worth over seven billion USD, which the Ministry of Agriculture has successfully saved it from the drought.

The view of the Ministry of Agriculture in the irrigation sector is different from that of the past. The ministry with the drip irrigation system, irrigation by solar energy, and irrigation with the modern approaches which result in reduction of water loses, is trying to increase production and reduce the need for water, which results to the economic growth of farmers and gardeners.

Natural Resources

Forests, waters, pastures, protected areas, and medicinal plants farms are collection of natural capitals of Afghanistan. The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), along with the cultivation and maintenance of these capitals, will revitalize forests, pastures, and natural landscapes by setting up effective and productive plans, and the restoration of these capitals reach thousands of acres of land each year.
