The Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Badghis Province dispensed three cumin cleanser machines and two roasting and pistachio processing machines to five entrepreneurs in the province.
Cleansers have a cleaning capacity of 500 kg of cumin per hour. Also, pistachio processing and roasting machines have the capacity of processing and roasting two thousand kilograms of pistachios in each working shaft.
Each cumin cleaning machine costs about 6,000 $ and each pistachio processing and roasting machine costs about 7,000 $ provided by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The machines were dispensed while the first pistachio processing factory in Badghis province was recently activated by a private investor with the financial and technical support of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIL).
Badghis is one of the main producers of pistachios and cumin in the country. With the distribution of these devices, the value of pistachio and cumin products in Badghis get increased.
