Allocated meeting on combating drought and accidents

A special meeting to combat drought and disasters chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani (POA) was held this morning at the presidential area (ARG).
In outset of the meeting, Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president (VP), provided detailed information on the plan to combat the drought.
Afterwards, relevant officials presented their information and reports on 1400 drought response plan, country’s food security statues, plan for addressing potential drought risks in livestock sector and addressing delicate districts.
President Ghani, taking the above-mentioned issues and the security situation in the country; Instructed VP office , General Directorate of Administration, the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and the Ministry of State for Disaster Management to reconsider the drought plan and, after making the necessary amendments then share it with presidency.
