Durrani Meets Helmand Governor, Discusses Horticulture Development

Nasir Ahmad Durrani, minister of agriculture, irrigation, and livestock, met with Mohammad Yasin Khan, Helmand governor, in his office today.

Helmand governor thanked the Ministry of Agriculture for its attention to agriculture and horticulture in the province and said that the problems of the agriculture sector in the province had been addressed.

The governor said that the crops have increased in the province, adding, “Our crops have increased by 30 percent in the wheat sector and by 15 percent in fruit production.”

The governor of Helmand also called on the Ministry of Agriculture to focus on the development of horticulture and livestock and to focus on building a cold storage facility in the province.

Agriculture Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani promised more cooperation for the development of horticulture in the province, saying that more work would be done on forest development in the province in 2020 (1399 Solar Year).

Agriculture minister also said one of the cold storage facility, which is planned to be built in the country, will be built in Helmand province.
