13 Saffron Demonstration Unite will be built in Badghis

Following the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture to increase production and improve the quality of Saffron in the country, 13 Saffron Demonstration units will be built in Badghis Province.
Abdul Tawab Tayeb, the director of Badghis Agriculture, says, that Saffron Onions have been distributed to Saffron Growers under the program to build these Demonstration Unite.
According to the Badghis director of Agriculture, five Tons of Saffron Onions have been distributed to 13 Saffron farmers by the province's Agriculture Department, with the aim of building 13 Demonstration Units. Of these demonstration farms, five are constructed on a theatrical standard and the other eight on a theatrical basis only.
Each of these demonstration farms covers an area of one thousand square Meters in Qades, Muqar and Abkamari districts; And a new castle is being built in the center of the province.
The purpose of creating these Show farms is to promote Saffron cultivation among the peasants.
500 KG of Saffron Onions will be distributed to the Saffron Growers who use the standard farm, and 312.5 KG of Saffron Onions will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the other eight farms, as well as a package for planting, harvesting and processing Saffron.
By creating these Demonstration farms, practical training will be provided for 260 Saffron workers in show farms, which will ultimately promote better Saffron cultivation.
The growth and development of Saffron is favorable in the climate and Soil conditions of Badghis province, and therefore, since 1394, various development programs have been undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture in this province.
Afghanistan produces the best Saffron in the world and has become the second largest exporter of Saffron in the last two years.
The programs of the Ministry of Agriculture, including technical and educational support for Saffron Growers, continue due to the growth of Saffron production and quality.
